I’m Phillip Evans, a clinical hypnotherapist based in Stoke-on-Trent, England, working online with clients across the UK and internationally.
Before training as a hypnotherapist, I spent over 30 years in education – including senior leadership roles and Headship. It was during those years that I noticed something: the most capable, dedicated women on my teams were often the ones who struggled most with food. They could manage budgets, teams, crises, high-stakes inspections – but felt powerless around food by the end of the day.
That question led me to hypnotherapy. What I discovered changed everything I thought I knew about willpower, habits, and lasting change.
Today, I specialise in helping professional women break free from emotional eating and self-sabotage patterns. I understand demanding careers from the inside – the early starts, the emotional labour, the depletion – and I don’t offer advice that ignores that reality.
I also work with students and young people experiencing exam anxiety. Drawing on my background as a GCSE Principal Examiner and 35+ years in schools, I deliver ExamCalm™ workshops teaching evidence-based techniques from Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP, and EFT. I work with students one-to-one and deliver group workshops in schools. Enhanced DBS certified and Level 4 Safeguarding qualified.
Additionally, I help clients with anxiety, fears and phobias, smoking cessation, and sleep issues.
I trained with the Andrew Parr Academy (Harley Street, London) and hold diplomas in Professional Hypnotherapy and Advanced Hypnotherapy & Coaching, accredited by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR). I’m a certified hypnotist with the Mike Mandel Hypnosis Academy (MMHA), with additional certifications in NLP and Mindscaping. I’m a member of the International Hypnosis Association (IHA) and International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapists (ICBCH).
